The Rolls-Royce 103EX Rolls in From the Future

Perhaps you’ve heard of thenew Rolls-Royce Vision 103EX and its futuristic design. What’s it like? Is it true that it doesn’t have a steering wheel? Can you expect to see it along your Pasadena commute sometime in the near future? What is the Rolls-Royce 103EX price tag? You have questions, and we have the answers. So, keep reading to get up close and personal with this visionary automobile.
The Rolls-Royce Vision 103EX – Designed for 2035
Billed as a 2035 model, the design of the Rolls-Royce 103EX looks like an update of various Rolls-Royce designs from a century ago with decidedly revolutionary innovations. It is over 19 feet long – longer than most SUVs and almost as long as a small RV, yet it is designed to seat only two people. The majority of that length is taken up by the very long front end. You might think that the front end must encase a large engine, but this is an all-electric vehicle, so there is no engine under the hood. That cavernous space is reserved for luggage because, apparently, folks in 2035 won’t believe in packing lightly. The rather large wheels are completely covered by the fenders and the cabin is almost entirely encased in glass, giving the passengers a panoramic view.
Any nostalgia for vintage design is left outside, however. Stepping into the interior of the Rolls-Royce Vision 103EX is like stepping directly into the future of automotive luxury. Seating is composed of a cozy-looking silk loveseat, while the floor is covered in soft carpeting. The sides of the cabin are covered in wood paneling and the front of the cabin is mostly taken up by a large touchscreen that defaults to displaying a graphic that represents the Spirit of Ecstasy. The doors swing open towards the back while the hinged ceiling opens upward, allowing the passenger to stand up before exiting the vehicle.
Why Doesn’t the Rolls-Royce 103EX Have a Steering Wheel?
You may have noticed no mention of a steering wheel, gas pedals, or any other kind of controls in the above description. There are no such controls. This car is driven by its computer A.I., the Spirit of Ecstasy—nicknamed Eleanor—who will respond to your vocal commands and assist you with anything that you need to take care of one the road. If you’re getting Knight Rider vibes, you should. This car is designed to be operated autonomously.
What is the Rolls-Royce 103EX Price?
So, maybe you’re sold on this funky car from the future, and you want one. What is the Rolls-Royce 103EX price? Sadly, this car is not for sale. It’s a concept car, meaning separate ideas and innovations from this vehicle will eventually be incorporated into future models. So, don’t expect to see it rolling around Glendale any time soon.
What the Rolls-Royce Vision 103EX Says About the Future of Luxury
The production of this car demonstrates the commitment of Rolls-Royce to incorporating these principles into future models:
- A focus on all-electric propulsion
- Development of autonomous, self-driving artificial intelligence
- The creation of more passenger space and creative utilization of upscale materials to enhance the beauty of interior design
